What is PWCP?
The Prairie Watersheds Climate Program (PWCP) helps producers adopt climate-friendly practices with cost-share funding of up to $75,000 (covering as much as 85% of costs).

Funding supports three key areas:

  • Nitrogen Management (e.g., soil testing, fertilizer inhibitors, split application, manure/compost use)

  • Cover Cropping (e.g., fall/spring cover crops, perennials, planning support)

  • Rotational Grazing (e.g., fencing, watering systems, pasture improvements, management plans)

Funding amounts may vary by watershed district.
